OPTICS AUSTRALIA
OPTICS AUSTRALIA, a social initiative, is dedicated to serving the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian (AHI) community. Optics Australia was founded in 2024 to raise awareness, deliver information to and educate the AHI community in the domains of political, social and cultural matters.
Hinduism is the fastest growing religion in Australia and makes up 2.7% of the
Australian population as per the 2021 consensus. Some 4% of the Australia’s
population is of Indian origin and the Indian community is also the fastest-growing overseas group in Australia. This makes the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian community a pivotal one in the Australian story, in all realms of society including political, social and cultural.
Optics Australia will stress the achievements and milestones achieved by the AHI community in Australia, highlight the rapidly developing Australia-India relationship as well as celebrations of cultural heritage and importance.
Furthermore, awareness and campaigning against anti-Hindu and anti-India related disinformation and false doctrines will be taken up in order to instigate positive changes in society.
MISSION
- To educate and empower the AHI community in matters relating to them, both in Australia and globally.
- To highlight matters of political, social and cultural significance, pertaining to the AHI community.
- To campaign and spearhead issues affecting the AHI community and ensuring that propaganda against this community is addressed.
EDUCATE
We ensure that accurate information on issues relevant to the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian communities is delivered to them and the wider society
AWARENESS
We deliver accurate Australian based social and political information, highlighting public policies affecting the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian communities. We will highlight stakeholders in the political and social systems who are working, both in the interests of as well as not in the interests of the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian communities, in issues related to them.
ADVOCACY & PARTICIPATION
We encourage members of the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian communities to participate in social and political work for the benefit of Australian society.
Attempts are made to address any issues which may arise affecting these communities
CULTURAL HERITAGE
We deliver information and the significance behind matters of cultural significance affecting the Australian Hindu and Australian Indian communities
